WELCOME TO SYLACAUGA
Thank you for visiting our web
site. Sylacauga is known as the Marble City. It is located
just forty miles from Birmingham, sixty-five miles from Montgomery
and one-hundred thirty miles from Atlanta. The city is in
Talladega County just thirty miles from the Talladega Superspeedway
and the new Honda site.

Sylacauga has earned the reputation
for being both progressive and beautiful. I am also proud to announce
that Sylacauga has won thirteen national beautification awards.
Downtown Sylacauga has remained a strong
retail center. Our banks, retail trade, industries, and organizations
working together for a common goal have produced a stable environment
for businesses, residences, and schools.
The quality of life opportunities in
Sylacauga expand from arts to family-oriented activities. The city
provides for annual festivals, theater performing groups, athletic
activities for all ages, concerts and exhibits. Sylacaugans are
proud of the many beautiful parks that provide excellent family-type
activities and the well-preserved museum that displays local, state
and national history.
The city government is presently working
on a downtown re-development project that will greatly enhance the
beauty of our city. The project provides for improved pedestrian
connections from downtown to nearby neighborhoods, between schools,
and from downtown to our major thoroughfare, Highway 280. This project
also provides for an additional park in the downtown area and two
walking tracks.
Sylacauga is like the marble it produces
- strong, healthy, and is always ready to shine. We are committed
to a strong economic environment and a safe and healthy place to
raise a family. We stand out as a leader in the quality of life
for all our citizens.
Come for a visit.
