2009 AMEA SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

The Sylacauga Utilities Board presented the 2008 Alabama Municipal Electric Authority (AMEA) Academic scholarships at our monthly board meeting. These scholarships are given to students whose families are electric customers of the Sylacauga Utilities Board. Academic scholarships totaling $7,500 were awarded to three high school graduates.  Scholarships of $2,500 each were awarded to Jonathan Compher, Trent Barnett, and Melissa Crook.  We are privileged to be able to do this each year on behalf of AMEA.

Joshua Barnett, graduate of B.B. Comer High School, is the son of Thomas and Melissa Barnett.  Trent Compher, graduate of Sylacauga High School, is the son of Doug and Lisa Compher.  Melissa Crook, graduate of Fayetteville High School, is the daughter of Dr. Jim and Melissa Crook.
