The Sylacauga Police Department's administrative division consists of DARE/school resource, crime prevention, and training.

The DARE/School Resource officers work closely with the Sylacauga Board of Education.  Students within the city school system are educated about the dangers and consequences of possessing and using illegal narcotics.  The officers also work closely with school administrators to help with situations which may require assistance from the Sylacauga Police Department.

Crime Prevention works with the citizens of Sylacauga in providing information and education on how to notice and prevent crimes before they happen.  They are also provided to educate the public on the duties and responsibilities of police officers.  Crime Prevention offers several programs for the community including the Citizens Police Academy, Civilian Ride Along Program and Neighborhood Watch.  A list of programs with links for more information is provided below.

The Sylacauga Police Department's training coordinator has the responsibility of providing the officers and support services personnel with quality in-house and outside training.  The training officer gathers resources from all over the United States to make sure each officer is highly trained and effective.
