IMPACTING SYLACAUGA’S ECONOMY

THROUGH RETIREE ATTRACTION

‘Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce travels to Gulf Shores to attract retirees’

Sylacauga, AL . . .  The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce will be traveling to Gulf Shores February 8 – 9 for the annual Alabama Advantage Retiree Attraction Expo.

On Thursday, February 8, from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce will participate in the Annual Lifestyles EXPO and meet 3,000 “snowbirds” looking to relocate or visit Alabama cities.

“This is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our city as an Alabama attraction,” stated Crystal Ricks, Executive Director, Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce.  “We have some great places to visit including Blue Bell Creameries, Isabel Comer Museum, our unique specialty shops and we have an awesome community in which to live.”

“I would like for all individuals in the area to provide information on their businesses for us to put in our booth.  We hope to convince many people that Sylacauga is the next place they need to visit or relocate!”

In addition to the Expo, the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce will attend Retiree Attraction workshops on Friday, February 9 including:  “Tourism & Retiree Attraction as an Economic Development Program Initiative,” “Retiree Attraction via the Internet & Recognition of Alabama Community Retiree Attraction Web Pages,” “Retiree Attraction – Is your community ready?,” and many more.
