CHAMBER DIRECTOR ATTENDS U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE INSTITUTE FOR ORGANIZATION
MANAGEMENT

Washington, DC . . . Crystal Ricks, Executive Director of the Sylacauga
Chamber of Commerce, recently completed a week-long professional development
program with the Institute for Organization Management, held June 17 - 22,
2001 at the University of Georgia.

The Institute program offers innovative, challenging, and leading-edge
continuing education for chamber of commerce and association executives and
staff members. Presented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Institute is
designed to position chambers and associations to meet the needs of the 21st
Century. Specifically, the program participants build skills essential to
address the challenges of increased competition, greater member demands, and
tighter resources.

After four years of Institute, participants can earn points toward the
Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) or Certified Association Executive (CAE)
designations. Graduates of Institute program will receive a certificate in
Organization Management. The University of Georgia is one of seven
Institute programs held each year at U.S. college campuses. Nearly 2,000
individuals attend Institute annually.
