Location:
Situated in the southeast corner of beautiful Talladega County, Alabama, Sylacauga is conveniently located 51 miles southeast of Birmingham and 67 miles north of Montgomery. Intersected by U.S. Highways 280 and 231, the community is easily accessible by land. Electricity, natural gas, water and sewer service are provided through the Sylacauga Utilities Board. A $125 deposit and a $15 connection charge are required to establish service. Curbside garbage service is available in conjunction with recycle containers.

Driver’s License:

If moving to Alabama from another state, you should obtain a driver’s license upon establishing residence.  The Driver’s License Examiner’s office is in the Alabama Highway Patrol Office at the Talladega County Courthouse, North East Street, Talladega, 362-2911.

Comer Memorial Library and Information Center contains 60,292 volumes, 170 periodicals, assorted audiovisual equipment, micro films of census records and early Sylacauga newspapers and magazines. They also offer an extensive large print collection, easy renewal by telephone, reference service and educational seminars throughout the year.
