"Created
solely for the betterment of Comer Library!"
The
B. B. Comer Memorial Library Foundation was formed in 1991 to support
the mission of the library-to provide services and materials for
the education, enrichment and entertainment of the people of the
greater Sylacauga area. Service is free for citizens within the
library's service area---regardless of age, place of residence and socioeconomic
status. Patrons come to the library from a twenty-five-mile radius that
includes parts of five counties; yet, the funding is almost totally from the
City of Sylacauga. This generous service is evidence of a long-standing
commitment to an informed citizenry by municipal government officials.
Residents
of Sylacauga are proud of their public library. After all, it is
the largest, best-stocked library in the state for a town the size
of Sylacauga. The knowledge explosion and expanded access possible
with new technology promises far better library service, but the
rising cost of materials and the initial cost of conversion creates
the need for additional funding and continued upgrading of the library
program.
You
can contribute to the Foundation with gifts of cash, property, securities,
or real estate. You may contribute through trust arrangements, bequests
in wills and by naming the Foundation as beneficiary of a life insurance
policy. Your gift can be designated as an honor gift or
memorial with a nice letter sent to friends and loved ones.
