HOWARD FISHING REGULATIONS

HOURS OF OPERATION:
Tuesday – Sunday. Gate will be
unlocked at sunrise and locked ˝ hour after sunset each day. Lake
will be closed each Monday, the last week in December, and the first
week in January of each year. NOTE: Fishing in lake may
be suspended at any time at the direction of the Lake Howard
Recreational Authority, Inc.

The following restrictions
and regulations are strictly
enforced on the Lake and/or surrounding property:
- NO SWIMMING OR SKIING
- NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
- NO HUNTING OR FIREARMS
- NO PARKING IN BOAT RAMP AREA
- NO SEADOOS
- NO ATVs ALLOWED ON LAKE PROPERTY

Trash containers are provided at ramp areas.
All cans, bottles, paper, and other trash are to be deposited in
these containers.

Special Events must have written approval from
Lake Howard Recreational Authority, Inc.

Group reservations and deposits are required
for Pavilion rent. Rental fee is $25.00 for large pavilion and
$10.00 for small pavilions.

Boat Launch Fee - $2.00. NOTE: The Lake is
posted “NO WAKE SPEED ONLY” for all boats. (State Conservation
Officer exempt.)

Boat storage fee of $200.00 annually for large
boats; $100.00 annually for small boats.

No boat trailers or other carriers may be
stored on property except when owner or user is fishing or otherwise
using Lake Howard facilities.
FISHING REGULATIONS

No fishing will be allowed before sunrise or
thirty minutes after sunset.

Fishing by PERMIT ONLY. There are two types of
permits:
ANNUAL PERMITS:
- Blue Card
- Valid Date of Purchase for one year
- Cost $25.00 per permit
- Each person must have their own permit
- Senior Citizens (65 and over) may receive a free annual
permit
- Employees of the City of Sylacauga (full-time) may receive
a free
annual permit.
- Annual Permit includes Free Boat Launch
DAILY PERMITS:
- Comes with the envelope
- Valid for one day only
- Purchased from staff member or use drop box (Honor
System)
- Cost is $2.00 per person per day
- Each person must have their own permit
- Daily permits do not include boat launch fee
- No Senior Citizen discount on daily permits
NOTE: Children under 12 years of age can fish without a permit but
they must be accompanied by a PERMITTED ADULT.

Fishing permits must be presented to the State
Conservation Officer or Lake Howard Recreational Authority, Inc.
representative.

Fish
limits and safety regulations established by the State will be
vigorously enforced.

A
Fishing Committee will be patrolling the Lake daily to assure
regulations are not violated.

The
failure to comply with the above rules will result in the revocation
of fishing permit, and /or property use privileges.
