The City of Sylacauga has adopted the following Technical Codes from ICC and NEC:

  • International Building Code, 2006 Edition, published by the International Code Council.

  • International Residential Code, 2006 Edition, published by the International Code Council.

  • International Fire Code, 2003 Edition, published by the International Code Council.

  • International Fuel Gas Code, 2006 Edition, published by the International Code Council.

  • International Plumbing Code, 2006 Edition, published by the International Code Council.

  • International Mechanical Code, 2006 Edition, published by the International Code Council.

  • International Existing Building Code, 2006 Edition, published by the International Code Council.

  • International Property Maintenance Code, 2006 Edition, published by the International Code Council.

  • National Electrical Code (NEC), 2005 Edition, NFPA 70

 

       Conflicts of Codes:

  • Any codes that are found to be conflicting, the more stringent code is enforced.

  • Final determination will be at the discretion of the authority having jurisdiction.

  • All questions shall be addressed to the proper code official within a reasonable time frame to allow
    for proper interpretation and compliance.
